“No Uterus, No Opinion.” | ABORTION (Choice & Consequence) – Pt. 6

"If you don’t have a uterus, then you don’t get to have an opinion. Men should not comment on abortion since they don’t know what it’s like to be pregnant and face the unique circumstances of pregnancy, which only a woman can experience."

This is one of the most intellectually lazy pro-abortion arguments out there. Here’s what it looks like broken down into premises:

P1) In order to be able to comment on a phenomenon, event, process, topic or issue, a person must have first-hand experience with the phenomenon, event, process, topic or issue in question.

P2) Pregnancy is a phenomenon, event, process, topic or issue.

P3) Women have first-hand experience with pregnancy and abortion.

P4) Men do not have first-hand experience with pregnancy and abortion.

P5) Men cannot comment on pregnancy and abortion.

C) Women, and only women, can comment on pregnancy and abortion.

Does different types of genitalia endow humans with different capabilities of moral discernment ?
Are women the only ones qualified to comment on the value of human life and the morality of abortion?

Watch the video to find out why this argument is fatally flawed.
